Art Journaling

Art journaling is a creative practice that combines self-expression with mindfulness, using art as a way to reflect and connect with your inner self.  The longer you keep doing this, the more effective it will be for your mind.   Let me help you start your creative journey.

What to expect:

There are no strict rules to follow in art journaling, which can be difficult sometimes as you probably don't know where to start.  I will guid you through simple but effective processes to maximise your mindful experience.

1. Guided drawing with your personalised pen

We will begin by crafting your own unique pen by mixing inks to create a personalised colour. This will help set the tone for your creative journey. With your new pen, you'll take part in a guided drawing exercise to help ground and centre you.

2. Mindful art journaling process with mixed media

We’ll dive into the main art journaling process, where I will demonstrate how to use various art mediums. With minimal instructions, you'll have the freedom to explore and express yourself authentically, while still feeling supported.  You will be keeping your senses busy with various techniques with inks, paints, stamps, stencils and collage, which will leave no room for unhelpful thoughts to step in.

3. Embrace your uniqueness

As you engage in the art processes, you will notice the distinctiveness of each artwork, serving as a unique reflection of yourselves. Through this experience, I aim for you to embrace the differences and uniqueness of each individual, fostering a sense of acceptance and appreciation.

4. Your artistic journey doesn't end here

As we wrap up, I’ll share tips on how to continue your art journaling practice at home and end your day on a happy note, bringing this mindful practice into your everyday life.

5. All the art materials and refreshments provided:

Everything you need to enjoy your creative process will be provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own sketchbook to the class.
